Each player is represented by a single Chaos Space Marine operative, with a starting profile as follows:

HERETIC ASTARTES, CHAOS, <WARBAND>, CHAOS SPACE MARINE

When creating a character, player can select following starting wargear for them:

  • Boltgun and Fists
  • Bolt pistol and Chainsword

Whenever the player's character is Slain or became the Chaos Spawn, player can select any of his CHAOS SPACE MARINE henchmen as his new character, or create a new character from scratch.

HENCHMEN

Henchmen are character's aidees in missions, paid their wage per each scenario. Any henchmen that were recruited for at least one scenario and not Slain, stay on your Base of operations. Give them names and write up their datasheets somewhere. You can buy them wargear. For CHAOS SPACE MARINE henchmen, you can do everything that you do for your main characters. Keep track on your henchmen' statuses as well as for your main character operative. If the henchman is Slain, remove its datasheet.

When henchmen perform actions giving BP, the player gains the respective number of BP as if it were his character.

All Is Dust: Once per turning point, when a shooting attack is made against this operative, you can use this rule. If you do so, treat this operative's Hit stat as 2+ for that attack.

Sorcerous Automata: Whenever this operative is activated, subtract 1 from its APL stat until the end of that activation, unless a friendly PSYKER operative is within 9" of it.

In addition, this operative cannot regain wounds from Medkit, cannot be reanimated, but can regain wounds by using Warpdust and has no negative effects after doing so. If this operative is incapacitated at the end of scenario, instead of rolling normal casualty test, roll a D6, on a result of 1 this operative is Slain, on a 2+ it is reanimated with full wounds remaining.

Skulls For The Skull Throne: this operative cannot perform Prayers to Gods other than kt3-mark-khorne KHORNE or kt3-mark-undivided UNDIVIDED and cannot have Mark of Chaos other than kt3-mark-khorne KHORNE or kt3-mark-undivided UNDIVIDED.

Kill, Maim, Burn: Whenever this operative is activated, roll a D6. On a roll of 1, whenever it performs the Shoot action or the Charge during this activation, it must select the closest valid target.

For each Gift Of Chaos ability, this operative's wage is 1BP more. This operative cannot be equipped with wargear, but can be equip with equipment.

Unleash Daemon: Whenever this operative is activated, if it did not use this rule before in this scenario, you can select to use this rule. Until the end of scenario:

  • This operative's melee weapons have Ceaseless and Rending weapon rules.
  • Whenever damage of 3 and more is inflicted on this operative, subtract 1 from that damage. This is cumulative with similar rules.

Group Activation: Whenever this operative is expended, you must then activate one other ready friendly DEVOTEE operative (if able) before your opponent activates. When that other operative is expended, your opponent then activates as normal (in other words, you cannot activate more than two operatives in succession with this rule).
